This year is the 8th year that the Lancaster Hempfield Rotary has been involved in the  Shop for a Cause Expo.  The expo is a friendly competition among local non-profits to raise awareness and win prizes for their organizations and marks $100,000 being raised for local non-profits through this excellent fundraising initiative.  The 2016 competition took place at Park City Center on Saturday, April 16, and involved 35 non-profit organizations. The competing organizations earned points by gathering receipts for purchases made at Park City stores and restaurants, with each dollar reflected on the receipts resulting in a point. Additional points were earned by donating canned goods or cash to the Hempfield Area Food Pantry.  The pantry received $2,054 in cash donations and 3,071 pounds of donated food.
